Olsson Family Trophy
The Olsson Family Trophy for A-Grade Fielding started in 1991/92. The Olsson Family Trophy is donated by one of the most recognised names in PAOCCC history.
The Olsson Family has played over 600 games for PAOCCC. Murray Olsson played 214 games for PAOCCC during 20 seasons throughout the 1940’s, 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s, is a life member of PAOCCC and is a 15 year life member of the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association. Murray’s son, Andrew Olsson is the Club’s games record holder, having passed Greg “The Colonel” Sanders (319.5 games) during the 2012/13 season. Andrew has played 322.5 games and is still going in his 41st season. Andrew’s career started in the 1970’s while still at School and in addition to being a player life member of PAOCCC, Andrew is a 25 year life member of the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association. Andrew’s sons, Henry and Charlie, have only just started their playing careers for PAOCCC (14 games and 2.5 games respectively). Andrew’s brother, David, also played 91.5 games across 17 seasons during the 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s and is a player life member of PAOCCC.
On field, Andrew won the Redman (1994/95) and has played in 3 premierships (1999/00, 2002/03 and 2004/05). Murray also played in a premiership in 1967/68. In addition, the family has secured some 18 batting or bowling awards, which have been listed below:
